The objectives of the project include promotion of sustainability and eco-practices in the film and creative industries, boost international collaboration and knowledge exchange between Bitola and Sarajevo, engage young filmmakers in green practices and sustainable development and produce a policy brief with recommendations for sustainable film production and urban development.
Founded in 2017, Bitola Film Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to the development of film as an artistic medium in Bitola. It was founded by a group of professionals in the field of culture, as well as film lovers and professors. As the To this end, we co-ordinate Bitola`s activities related to the statute as a creative city of the film within UNESCO, as well as a number of activities related to Bitola as a UNESCO Film City, as well as other film activities that emerge from the specificity of Bitola as a film center of the Republic of Macedonia.
Obala Art Centar was founded in Sarajevo in 1984 with the purpose of developing and promoting cultural, artistic and educational activities of its members and other citizens. In its programme the association started from traditional values of artistic creation, particularly in the field of film, fine arts, performing arts and music, as well as advanced philosophical thought. In 1995, Obala Art Centar established the Sarajevo Film Festival, which has since then become one of the key cultural events in the region of Southeast Europe. Today, besides the annual film festival organization, Obala Art Centar runs regular film distribution with an additional specialized film distribution operation year-round, an art-house cinema, film production and organizes different educational activities, mostly in the field of media and visual literacy.
