The Green Film Cities: Empowering Sustainable Creative Cities

About Green Film Cities

The Green Film Cities: Empowering Sustainable Creative Cities aims to address the urgent need for sustainability and eco-practices within the film and creative industries over a period of 12 months. The project focuses on enhancing collaboration between Bitola and Sarajevo, two UNESCO Creative Cities of Film, to promote green solutions and sustainable urban development through the film industry. The idea behind the project lies in the pressing global need for sustainable practices in all sectors, including film and the creative industries. Both Bitola and Sarajevo have the potential to become leaders in eco-friendly film production, which can significantly contribute to urban sustainability and economic growth. The project relies on the strengths and networks of these cities to exchange knowledge, raise awareness, and implement sustainable practices.

The objectives of the project include promotion of sustainability and eco-practices in the film and creative industries, boost international collaboration and knowledge exchange between Bitola and Sarajevo, engage young filmmakers in green practices and sustainable development and produce a policy brief with recommendations for sustainable film production and urban development.

The objectives of the project include:

Promotion of sustainability and eco-practices in the film and creative industries, boost international collaboration and knowledge exchange between Bitola and Sarajevo, engage young filmmakers in green practices and sustainable development and produce a policy brief with recommendations for sustainable film production and urban development.

  • Implement a comprehensive communication and dissemination plan to raise awareness and share project outcomes.

The primary target groups of the project are professionals in the film and creative industries, young filmmakers and young people from the creative industries and local policymakers from Bitola and Sarajevo.

The project aims to contribute to the long-term sustainability of the film industry, promote cultural exchange and collaboration, and support the development of eco-friendly and culturally vibrant cities Bitola and Sarajevo.
